Learning to Insert & Attach Pictures to your Email In Outlook Express

If you're new to using Outlook Express here are a few basic tasks you will find handy to know how to do!

I know at first glance this looks like a complex program for just sending e-mail, but fear not the basic tasks are easy to learn and it's such a wonderful program to use for your e-mail it's well worth your time to learn to use it. :o)

The following will explain to you how to insert and or attach images, pictures or files to your outgoing e-mail.When adding pictures or images you have to decide if you want to insert it or attach it, when you insert an image your receiver will see it right on the e-mail as they read it, when you attach it, your receiver will not see it on the mail itself as it is attached, and they have to open the attachment to see it. So depending on what it is your wanting to send will determine if your inserting or attaching your image or picture.

In order to insert pictures or images as described below you have to have your setting selected to Rich Text (HTML) See here for instruction if your not sure how.

Let's Get Started!

To Insert a picture (make sure you have your background formatted first) open your Outlook Express and click on New Mail, the top of your New Message window should look similar to this:

click on Insert/Picture

Once clicked your presented with a window like this:

You need to Click on the Browse button and direct your computer where to go find the image you want to insert. So you need to know it's location before hand so your able to do this. After clicking Browse you'll get this window to pop up:

Click on the directory your picture is in then it will open to show the files inside where your picture is located like this:

After you found your file which is your picture or image you clicked Open, it will appear in your e-mail message similar to this:
