Instructions to complete
the Snow Bell
(If you're coming from finishing
the Clear Glass Bell Skip #1)
1.
Go to Windows / Duplicate and Save this new
image as SnowBell and minimize or close your
other Bell image until later to make a Clear
Glass Bell with.
2.
Hide your drop shadow bell layer, all handle
layers and your black bottom layer, and merge
all visible, rename this merged layer Bell,
go to Selections / select all / float / defloat,
we're going to clean up the jaggies a bit.
Selections / Modify / Contract by 1 / Selections
/ Modify / Feather 2. Selection / Invert and
hit your delete key 3 or 4 times, then deselect
and Zoom in close to check on the jaggies
especially along the bottom edge. Unhide the
bottom black layer and zoom in.
You
maybe find they need a bit of softening to
blend them away and make a smooth edge..
Use
your Retouch Tool for this.
Work
lightly or your area will become over worked
and look bad.
3.
Now let's do the same thing to the handle............
hide all layers except the handle layers and
merge them all visible. Selections / select
all / float / defloat same as above.You shouldn't
need much if any retouch on the handle layer.
At this point you can add a new layer for
a hanger if you'd like to make a hanging bell,
I used the Rope tube supplied by Jasc to make
one on some of my bells.

The
rope colorizes well too!
|
Apply
these after you have merged all visible, with
your black layer hidden. Use the layers to your
advantage! I duplicated my Bell layer and then
hid one, merged a bell with a long handle, then
hid it, unhid the other bell and merged it to
a rope hanger and Viola! 2 bells, one palette,
copy paste either one as a new image and tube
or save.
4.
That's it, your finished all except for some
perspective shadow! To show you another way
of adding a perspective shadow without using
Eye Candy all you have to do is duplicate
your merged visible layer, on the bottom duplicate
click it active and go to Colors / Adjust/
Brightness-Contrast and apply this setting:

This
turns your image solid black to use as a shadow,
click on your Deformation tool and while holding
down shift, move your corners to move the
shadow askew something like this:

Neat
huh?! Then just lower your Opacity on the
shadow layer to the desired shade for your
shadow!
