Gone Fishin Plaque ~ Created by Fluttrby Designs ©

And Making Waves in Paint Shop Pro!
(Animated Plaque Tutorial)

Page 3

Shew! Give your self a pat on the back, stretch your arms and legs and grab a fresh cup of coffee, the tough part is over!

We're finished with the backdrop layer, you can delete it now if you were using one!

Activate your Layer 1 (the blank one you have had sitting at the bottom of your stack forever lol) and choose your Flood Fill tool, foreground set to #808080 and fill, no texture applied.

Select Effects/Noise/Add and apply these settings:

Then go to Effects/Blur/Motion Blur and apply these settings:

Next I applied the Sandstone Texture using these settings:

But feel free to texture as you wish, keep in mind though the more detail in the texture the heavier it will make the animation in the end.

Now with TEXT1 visible take out your Eraser setup like this:

And begin erasing a jaggy type edge around the text to produce a signboard similar to mine here:

Be sure you get every stray pixel when your done erasing by Selecting All/Float/Defloat you should see marching ants only around your gray signboard and nowhere else on the canvas! If you do see stray ants you need to erase these areas and deselect then select again to check their all gone. You must have a clean background surrounding this layer!
Once your sure it's cleaned up, apply a Drop Shadow using these settings:
Vert - 2
Horz - 2
Opacity - 100%
Blur - 0
This is going to be your bottom layer, and if you want your animation to be transparent, you cannot use a drop shadow at a lower Opacity, it makes it look horrible! But if your going to apply a different background below this layer, add drop shadow at the settings you choose!
Rename this layer 'signboard' & save your work.

Next copy your tube image and paste it as a new layer positioning it on top of your signboard any way you like, I found it fit quite nicely pretty much centered. When you have the tube positioned your ready to add some Inner Bevel to it. I used the following settings:

Apply an inner bevel to promote a more 3 D effect!

It added good depth to the layer, rounding the edges too, without too much distortion.
You can play around with these settings and see what you come up with.

Add a drop shadow using the same settings as above to this layer as well, and like wise add drop shadow using the same setting to each of your 3 TEXT layers as well.

Save your work

Now here's where we begin to put together your animation.................

Hide All Layers except TEXT1, bear,signboard......... and Merge All Visible.
Copy this merged layer and Paste as a New Image!
Pasting as a new image puts your animation on a canvas just the right size, the extra space is gone around the edges.
Unmerge your plaque canvas and Hide TEXT1, Unhide TEXT2........ and Merge All Visible
Copy this merged layer and Paste As A New Layer on top of your other single single layered canvas, which now contains a copy of Merged TEXT1 and Merged TEXT2.
Unmerge your plaque canvas and Hide TEXT2, Unhide TEXT3.......... and Merge All Visible
Copy this merged layer and Paste As A New Layer on top of your other canvas to make a total of 3 Complete layers!! Yippeee!!! :o))
I resized my image at this point by 75% in an effort to keep the finished .gif under 50KB. If you choose to do so as well, resize all layers and then go back and Sharpen/Unsharpen Mask each of your 3 layers with these settings:

Use these settings on each layer seperately!

Save this image as a .psp and close it, your ready to head over to the Paint Shop Pro Animation Shop!
