Ruffled Lace Valentine Tutorial

Page 3

Ok finally we're ready to apply our lace!

Copy a piece of your 3 pleated 100 high lace and paste it to the Gold Heart Image as a New Layer, select your Deformation tool, position as shown then holding down shift, begin nudging the corners.

On the positioning I kind of imagined a straight line on the edge of my heart, and placed the lace, then while nudging I was able to manipulate it around the curves, repeat this process until you have layered 7 pieces of lace to complete the right side of the heart.

Here we go, Look carefully at the positioning as well as the deforming outlines of the tool!

In position.......

After nudging ready to push apply.
You may also find the need to use the Mover tool to make the final placement just right.

Piece 2
(and these will all be on separate layers as you paste each piece as a New Layer)

In position.......

After nudging ready to push apply.

Piece 3

In position.......

After nudging ready to push apply.

Notice before you push apply your nodes next to the heart need to be aligned to create the bend appearance. Use the heavy white line in the lace as a guide as well :o) Your trying to keep all these lines even at the same distance, once you place 2 or 3 you'll have the feel of it!
